Medical Entrance Exams: BMAT & GAMSAT
BMAT
The BMAT entrance exam is required for certain medical schools in the UK. I offer tuition for Section 2 (the science section), which is primarily composed of difficult GCSE style questions in chemistry, physics and biology, as well as non-calculator Mathematics questions. I can teach you all of the content required for this examination, including exam technique, especially now the exam is taken online; perfecting your time management skills will be crucial to your success.
GAMSAT
GAMSAT is a significantly more difficult version of the BMAT. The exam is run twice a year, during March and September. It is a six-hour exam comprising three sections. Section A tests students’ ability with abstract and verbal reasoning, comprehension and situational judgement. Section B involves two structured essays and Section C – Science - is based on A level (Grade 12)/first year undergraduate chemistry, biology and physics. From experience, most of the questions tend to be centred around organic chemistry, biochemistry and biology, with the remainder attributed to physics.
Depending on your requirements, I can provide whatever level of support you need to pass GAMSAT and gain entry to your chosen medical school. For example, teach the science content; go over exam technique; answer specific questions on content you’ve already covered; teach mathematical techniques for how to answer quantitative questions (such as those encountered in thermodynamics and physics) without the use of a calculator.
