About Me
Hello, I'm Christopher, I’ve taught Science and Mathematics for over 15 years, at some of the most prestigious schools in the UK, such as City of London School for Girls and Highgate School. I established a tuition business back in 2005, after graduating from Oxford University (Worcester College 2001 - 2005), with a Masters in Chemistry. Professionally, I have served as a consultant within the environmental science/engineering sector for large multinational corporations.
Sciencemathstuition.com started life as a part time venture whilst working as a consultant for a globally recognised environmental science and engineering cooperation. As demand for my tuition services increased, bespoke, private tuition became my primary occupation in 2008. By then I had helped numerous students reach their full potential and go on to achieve academic excellence.
By the start of the 2012 - 2013 academic year, sciencemathstuition.com had become well established, particularly in London. During the following two years, I also worked as a Mathematics and Science teacher at City of London School for Girls, before taking up my next post at Highgate School in 2015 as a Teacher of Chemistry and Lower School Science. The start of 2020 saw my tuition services move entirely online, bringing us to the present day, where I continue to offer Science and Maths tuition to students around the world.
Approach to Tutoring
With over a 15 years tuition experience, an in-depth knowledge of all the major examination boards and an extensive list of references to call upon, I believe I am well placed to help you with your tuition needs. My aim is to get the very best out of tutees using a variety of teaching methods with a strong emphasis on exam technique. I am flexible and adaptable in my approach to teaching, and endeavour to create a learning environment in which the tutee can thrive. I am easy-going and approachable - questions from tutees are encouraged as much as possible; I believe this is absolutely paramount if a solid understanding of a topic is to be achieved. Subjects are taught according to exact curriculum requirements. Knowledge is tested through regular homework and past paper questions.
